• Introduction to Power BI. Participants discover the Power BI ecosystem: Power BI Desktop (with the report builder and Power Query), the Fabric platform, as well as Power BI Service with the concepts of workspace, dashboards, and apps. They navigate the environment, understand report components, and use the essential features available to end users. This stage also includes an introduction to the fundamentals of business intelligence: structured and semi-structured data, star schemas, measures and dimensions, as well as key roles such as the data architect and the report designer.
• Report Creation and DAX. Participants create interactive reports and use DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to design calculated tables, columns, and measures. They apply advanced functions to refine their analyses. Emphasis is placed on designing meaningful visuals, optimizing them, and improving interactivity with features such as drill-through, slicers, buttons, bookmarks, parameters, and “What-If” scenarios.
• Power Query and Data Modeling. Participants connect to various data sources and manage storage modes. They practice essential transformations such as shaping, filtering, and cleaning data. They build efficient relational models with hierarchies and calculated columns. They also optimize query performance and manage parameters effectively.
• Relationships and Advanced Queries. Participants understand relationships between tables, define cardinalities, and manage filter directions. They deepen their skills with advanced queries, implementing complex transformations, combining data from multiple sources, and applying merging techniques to enrich their analyses.
